Food remedy for diarrhea


Diarrhea or (loose & watery stool) can cause because of irritable bowel syndrome. Some simple food remedies can be done to get rid of it.

Food to eat

1. Water- due to diarrhea, there can be loss of electrolytes and can cause dehydration. So drink plenty of water. 
2. Raw banana- contains potassium which helps to replace electrolyte. Raw banana is also known to thicken the stool consistency.
3. Ripe banana- potassium helps to replace electrolyte. Ripe banana also helps to absorb liquid in the intestine and move the stool smoothly.
4. Boiled rice- can be digested easily.
5. Boiled potatoes- easily digested.
6. Boiled vegetables
7. Lemon, salt, sugar water- helps to refill the body electrolyte.

Food to avoid

1. Fried and fatty foods
2. Milk and other dairy products
3. Spicy and sour foods
4. Processed foods
5. Raw vegetables
6. Citrus fruits (orange, berries, pineapple etc.)
7. Caffeinated drinks (sodas, coffee, tea etc.)
8. Artificial sugar.
                                                                                                               9. High protein food (egg, pork etc.)

*If  diarrhea lasts for more than 2 days without improvement, then you should consult your doctor, to do needful tests to know the underlying cause.
