Tips to take care while making custard


1. While making from the custard powder available in the market, mix the custard in room temperature milk or water. Do not use hot milk.
2. Mix the custard powder, in the milk while it is warm, instead of hot or boiling. Adding to hot milk can make the whole milk look like curdled (like orange pulp) and boiling milk can form lumps of custard powder.
3. While making custard, stir it continuously to avoid the custard from sticking to the bottom.
4. Cook the custard on medium heat instead of high. As it contains corn starch, it may stick to bottom because of  high temperature.
5. Add sugar at last, just before switching off the heat. To avoid the custard from sticking to the bottom.
6. Boil the custard for more than 2-3 minutes to avoid the powder smell while eating.
