Chili Paneer


1. Paneer 200 grams (cut into cubes)
2. Onion 1 cup ( cut into dice)
3. Cabbage 1/2 cup (cut into dice)  optional
4. Green bell pepper 1/2 cup (cut into dice)
5. Ginger 1 inch (finely chopped)
6. Garlic 2 cloves (finely chopped)
7. Green chili whole 2
8. Salt to taste
9. Corn starch 1 tbsp
10. All purpose flour 2 tbsp
11. Tomato ketchup 2 tbsp
12. Green chili sauce 1 tbsp
13. Dark soy sauce 1 tsp
14. Black pepper powder
15. Kasmiri red chili powder 2 tsp
16. Cooking oil (for shallow frying)


1. Cut the paneer into small cubes. And cut the onions, cabbage (optional) and green bell peppers into dice. Finely chop ginger and garlic, keep all the veggies aside.
2. Take the paneer in a bowl and sprinkle salt to taste, kasmiri red chili powder or peprika powder for red color, now add one tsp of corn starch and 2 tbsp of all purpose flour, sprinkle some water and mix so that paneer are coated with the batter. (as shown in picture)
3. Now heat 1/2 cup of oil in pan for shallow frying, fry the paneers on medium to high heat till they turn red or till fried from all the sides. Take out and keep them aside.
4. Now in a pan take 2 tbs of cooking oil, add finely chopped ginger, garlic and green chili (whole), saute for few seconds.
5. Now add diced onion and fry till they turn golden brown, when the onions are fried add cabbage (optional), green bell peppers, fry on high heat till they are half cooked. Now add salt to taste and fried paneer and toss them nicely.
6. Now add 2 tbsp of tomato ketchup, 1 tbsp of green chili sauce, 1 tsp of dark soy sauce and 1 to 2 tsp of black pepper powder. mix all the ingredients and turn off the heat.
7. Take it out and serve hot as a starter or with naan or kulcha and enjoy your chili paneer.
